Every restaurant we visited accepted credit cards, although not all the restaurants we visited accepted American Express. Taxis rarely cost more than 7 - 10 euros and I believe will take credit cards. However, I recommend taking the Metro. It's fast and inexpensive. The most expensive taxi ride will be from and to the airport--about 40 euros
Maybe 10 years ago I would still have written this. But lots of taxis now accept cards these days, especially those connected to the bigger companies like Radio Taxo 033 or Taxi Class. Those that do generally have the card logos on a sticker on a door or window. At the airport, or from your hotel, you can simply request a taxi that takes cards.

The cheapest way to get to the cruise ship terminal from the airport is to take the R2 Nord train from the train station at BCN terminal T2 to Barcelona Passeig de Grà cia train station.
