Uhm anyone knows where I could find the updates for my 2013 TTRS nav unit? I’ll eventually replace the head unit with something that takes CarPlay but meanwhile it would be nice to have up to date road data if nothing else to make sure I can get routing even if there’s no cellphone coverage.
For the 2016, you can download the entire map update via Audi website. The side is huge, a bit over 13GB. Download to SD or UBS and install to the car. Facelift MY2016 C7s have the new MMI w/4G LTE. One of the many improvements and new design is the ability for the owner to download map updates and install them.
Audi switched to a new provider, but only newer MMI headunits that have a Qualcomm CPU are compatible. They came out with the updated headunit around 2019 and existing cars with the new headunit received a software update to enable the new provider if they originally shipped with Google Earth.

Audi don't produce the maps they are purchased form a third party company, so they are likely to be out of date by 6/12 months as they have to get all the European countries, then produce an update disk which will then need to be tested before it's rolled out, so you will never get a true up to date maps when you do bulk updates like Audi do. Need to go to AudiConnect -> Services -> AudiConnect user management and scroll through the icons horizontally until you get to "Map Update". Can select the entire map package (10.5 GB) or select maps - it is a Java downloader so may need to update Java.
Q8 Map Updates. I have a US model CPO 2019 Q8 and never had AudiConnect. I was curious how the MMI maps were updated. I didn't see posts under the Q8, but other models spoke to having to call Audi USA and they would ship a USB or SD card with the update. I just called and the Audi rep indicated maps occur for free via wireless updates. RSa0FR.
